Bvlgari Milan

In Europe, the cities with the most luxurious urban hotels are Paris and Milan—no surprise, as France and Italy are the birthplaces of haute couture and high-end brands. Bvlgari Milan, the world’s first Bvlgari hotel, has been open for twenty years, yet its upkeep is so impeccable that it feels like a much younger hotel, perhaps only five or six years old.

The design follows Bvlgari Hotels’ signature style: a dark, opulent color palette with touches of grandeur. Display cases throughout the public areas showcase dazzling high jewelry pieces and select ready-to-wear items and handbags. Inside the rooms, large brand posters and the Bvlgari logo are tastefully placed on everything imaginable. The overall vibe feels like an expanded VIC (Very Important Client) room of a Bvlgari boutique—luxury in hotel form. This approach complements the brand's low-frequency jewelry purchases by offering guests another touchpoint to immerse themselves in the world of Bvlgari. With post-pandemic price surges in French and Italian hotels, a night’s stay here starts at the price of a Diva’s Dream necklace, further filtering its clientele.

The hotel’s pool is quite stunning, casting a soft green glow over the space. The shallow, warm waters feel inviting and safe, though the floors can get a bit slippery, so caution is advised. The ground-floor Il Ristorante allows guests to dine as late as 10:30 p.m., making it the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal after a swim and a leisurely blow-dry. There’s something incredibly soothing about slipping into comfortable clothes for a late dinner here, rounding off yet another blissful day.
